Where it all Began…
Our original founders- Gus Benner and Rollie Nawman, formed a partnership for sheet metal fabrication in Oakland, CA., where they worked on custom orders, re-tinning, and general fabrication.
1946
Benner-Nawman is Born
We formally incorporated as “Benner-Nawman, Inc.” and continued producing metal products for food processing companies, and custom equipment for local SF Bay area companies such as; Western Electric and IBM.
1950’s
Doing Big Things…
- In 1951- BN releases the “Pacific A” telephone booth – a patented production model designed by Rollie Nawman that featured aluminum, safety glass, and interchangeable ceramic-steel panels of different colors, which could withstand varied weather conditions.
- BN continues to expand in size and diversity, producing farm equipment, harvesters, lab equipment, and conveyor systems. The Oakland plant is expanded to handle greater capacity and production lines
- Telephone Booth industry takes off, producing the BN150 and BN400 models.
1960’s
Making a Name for Ourselves
- BN adds diversity to its telephone equipment business with shelters, and customized enclosures.
- Our metal fabrication expands to help produce pharmaceutical equipment, photo lab components, farming equipment, and hydraulic equipment.
1970’s
Expanding Our Horizons
- Benner-Nawman celebrates 50 years!
- Board Chairman Ed Kientz joins the company full-time.
- Modernized phone booths expand the Benner-Nawman market to 40 countries worldwide.
- Our Oakland plant closed, and we opened new facilities in Arizona, Illinois, northern California, and western Canada.
- Benner-Nawman launches our Universal Products division, supplying specialty electrical tools.
1980’s
We Join the Concrete Tool Industry
- Benner-Nawman forms a partnership with IKK/Diamond tools of Japan and expands into the construction tools industry, introducing the hydraulic rebar shear to the US market.
- Metal fabrication & assembly of telephone enclosures remain our primary business segment until 1999.
1990’s
Returning to Our Roots of Manufacturing
- Benner-Nawman purchased it’s own manufacturing company, and began producing Generator Enclosures/Fuel Tanks, and Office Workstations.
- We started production on a directory holder.
- We began making standby power enclosures and fuel tanks.
2000’s
BN Products-USA is Born
- 2001- Completion of our main facility in Wickenburg, AZ.
- 2005- The very last of 600,000 telephone booths are assembled and shipped by Benner-Nawman from Wickenburg, AZ.
- 2011- BN Products-USA, LLC. is incorporated as a limited partnership; a company division solely focused on supplying construction and rebar tools to the North American market.
- BN Products-USA™ would grow to become the company’s largest division.
- 2011- BN Products-USA introduces the “Cutting Edge Saw”, winning a Most Innovative Product Award upon it’s debut at World of Concrete!
2025-2026
The Most Trusted Name in Rebar Tools
- 2025- Benner-Nawman, Inc. celebrates our 100 years of outstanding service, since it’s founding, and remains a family-owned business into it’s 4th generation of company leadership.
- 2026- We celebrate 45 years of partnership with IKK/Diamond Tools, having solidified a lineup of electric & hydraulic rebar cutting and bending machines, for professional contractors.
- Today- We’re still the best at what we do, and we take pride in our history and BN family.
Today, Benner-Nawman companies use a network of construction product manufacturer representative companies plus our corporate team to promote our products across the United States, Canada, Central America and the Caribbean. Each representative company is located in the region they represent. Some of our professional manufacturer representatives also stock our products at their regional warehouse for faster delivery.
Our corporate offices and warehouse facilities are located in a 56,000 square foot location on seven acres of land in the Industrial Air Park of Wickenburg, Arizona. There is ample room within the facility for maintaining product inventory plus there are several acres of land for further development. National trucking companies, FEDEX, DHL and UPS deliver and accept shipments on a daily basis.
